Jessica Hinnenkamp is the owner of JM Photography (based in the Twin Cities) which offers wedding, maternity, newborn, children and family lifestyle photography. Take just one peek at the photos on her blog and you'll see why I absolutely love her. Jessica artfully captures every detail of each wedding she shoots, uses natural lighting in a beautiful way for outdoor shots, finds creative locations and props to produce unique/personalized images, and makes every little newborn look like the sweetest thing you've ever seen. Seriously! I mean, look at these two:
Even though I'm tempted to post about eighty more infant photos before getting to my point, I will stick to the original topic at hand (But c'mon! Who doesn't love babies?).
I'm not sure how many of you have ever looked at samples of resort photographers for international destination weddings but I have to be honest, there's not necessarily much to look at. Of course this is my personal opinion and there are exceptions to this viewpoint, but for the most part, photos tend to be a bit like impersonal cookie-cut-outs. You will see the same traditional poses and setups over and over again. No creative snapshots of the wedding details, candid getting-ready photos, or personalized pictures of the couple with cherished family and friends. Because of this, I strongly recommend that brides & grooms hire their own local photographer for their wedding... I know this sounds extreme and expensive (which it isn't necessarily), but it is also incredibly important. As a recent bride I can promise that you will pour over your wedding photos and enjoy re-living each moment for months and years to come!
Jessica of JM Photography has a great deal for MTS couples to make this possibility not only more affordable, but also a much better value: Add their services onto your destination wedding package and you'll receive a complimentary 'Day After Beach' session for free [which is a $500 value]! This offer is valid by booking a wedding-day package with JM Photography, which would be approximately $1500 for 8 hours of coverage (plus the cost of travel). This rate can fluctuate a little bit based on your particular preferences and selections, but this is about half of the going-rate for 8 hours of coverage in the Twin Cities! Make sure to tell her Christina from Midwest Travel Service sent you in order to get the special offer. Here are some samples from the most recent destination wedding she shot:
If you'd like to see more samples from her wedding portfolio check out her blog! You may even come across my own wedding from October 2010 :)
